A Word About the Thomas Fire

Happy 2018!  I hope you are recovering well from the Thomas (and any other) Fire and life has returned somewhat back to normal for you and your family.  I consider my family lucky in that while we had to evacuate during the fire and had to subsequently leave town again for several days due to poor air quality, we are fortunate in that we have a home to back to.  So many of our friends have either lost homes or their home was spared and they are unable to move back in due to smoke damage.   The new normal for them is going to be months if not years of temporary housing and rebuilding.  If you or a loved one falls into either of these categories I offer my sincerest condolences and offer my assistance to you any way that I can.

There has been a lot of concern about whether it’s safe to re-occupy structures that have been exposed to significant smoke and ash.  Coastal Clean Air Services provides fire residue testing and analysis for presence of harmful chemicals associated with wildfires.  This can be done as a baseline before a remediation contractor, as verification there is indeed smoke residue within a property, and/or after cleaning as confirmation sampling that all carbon by-product residue has been removed.  If you have residual soot and ash in your home or business and could benefit from combustion by-product testing, please contact us at your earliest convenience.
